Department:
- Facilitates, encourages and supports quality online teaching and learning.
- Promotes and supports the effective instructional use of web and digital technologies.
- Provides orientations, training and professional development for teachers who use the Learning Management System and other digital instructional technologies.
Instructional Technologies
- Learning Management System – currently Canvas by Instructure. Log in to Canvas through the BTC website, or at: https://btc.instructure.com/
- Lecture Capture – currently BTC shares a contract with the other Washington State Community and Technical Colleges for Panopto lecture capture. Panopto is integrated into Canvas.
- Virtual Meeting – currently BigBlueButton (“Conferences” inside Canvas) in BTC’s integrated virtual meeting tool. Zoom is another virtual meeting tool, available by request from Computer Support Services (helpdesk@btc.edu).

- eLearning Lab (CC320) – Drop in to work on computers with large monitors, ask a quick question, or check out technology.
- Technology to Lend – tablets, 360 cameras, web cameras, headsets, document cameras, smart speakers (Echo Dot & Google Home), bluetooth speakers, VR/AR headsets, Apple TV, Chromecast, Miracast, Kindles, etc.
- Digital Studio – eLearning and the Library to provide a private studio space for creating instructional media. Sound-reduced studio includes PC and Mac and various recording technology.
