Songkran Festival in Thailand

WYG

The Songkran Festival is always a memorable time of year. This celebration is the start of the Buddhist New Year. Songkran Festival is on April 13th to 15th every year. First, we go to the temple for cleaning, and water pouring on Buddha’s statue. After we finish at the temple, we show respect to our elders by sprinkling water over their hands. Then, we bring a big bucket or water guns, and we walk on the side road of the street to start water fights. The water fights run for three days, so we can enjoy playing Songkran Festival all day long. Also, the family has a gathering, and we cook dinner together. Normally, we don’t have a special dish for the holiday, but all Thai dishes are special all the time. I suggestion that, if you want to buy mango sticky rice, this summer will be perfect to have it. In summary, I’m very joyful that Songkran is one of Thailand’s festivals. We have a lot of activities between April 13th to 15th, and the most important thing is to spend quality time with our family.
