My favorite celebration: Pâques
Madeline
Every year, I look forward to celebrating Pâques since it’s so special. It brings together everything I love in one celebration: chocolate, strawberries, family and a return to childhood. This is a Christian holiday, but it is also present in my religion. Pâques always varies from year to year, since it is calculated according to the Moon a bit like Ramadan. However, it is always celebrated on a Sunday in April. It only lasts on Sunday, but workers and students have two weeks of vacation. We celebrate it first in church. We have mass and then we continue home. I think it is a holiday that we celebrate in France and in the United States, but it is more present in France because the Christian religion is dominant. We celebrate it mainly with family, and we eat lamb, asparagus, bread, wine and strawberries. Then we have an egg hunt for children and adults. This also heralds the beginning of the tulip fields flowering which are as famous as the lavender fields of the South of France. In conclusion, every year, I look forward to celebrating Pâques because it is always a memorable time with my family.
