Nature Day
Marjan Barzega
The Nature Day is my favorite cultural celebration for many reasons. The Nature Day is the 13th day of spring, which is April 3rd. This day is very special in Persian culture, and has been celebrated for the past 2500 years. Afghanistan, Tajikistan, a region in India and Armenia celebrate the same as my country, Iran. People prepare themselves weeks before the Nature Day. Sometimes the Nature Day is an a weekday, but then I don’t have the day off. If The Nature Day is not an the weekend, then I need to ask for day off in order to be able to attend the celebration, and join my family. We are so happy, we dance with Iranian music and cook very delicious foods such as lamb barbecue, chicken barbeque, Aash Reshteh, and ancient recipe such as lamb shank cooked inside the rice. We also doing some ancient fun activities such as “Tying grass”! It is old believe that if you wish something and tie two grasses, then it will make true by next year. In conclusion I love this whole celebration, and I try to attend everything.
