My Educational Experience

David Gastélum Torres

My educational story included many cities. The beginning of my education started thirty-five years ago, in Moroleon city in Guanajuato state, Mexico. I studied kindergarten there at the age of five years. Subsequently, in 1991, I started elementary school in La Piedad, Michoacán, Mexico. Six years later, I started middle school, and I finished it at the age of fourteen years old. After that, I started high school which I studied in Uruapan city in Michoacan state, Mexico. I studied there in a technical school as a technician in construction. Uruapan is where my parents and sisters currently live. In all of the previous schools, I wore uniforms as a requirement. Each school had their own uniform with different colors and unique elements. Finally, I went to the University in Morelia city in Michoacan state, Mexico to study in the “Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo” and graduated as an architect. I lived in that city, until the moment when I moved to the United States. In summary, having studied in so many cities was difficult, but it was a great adventure.
