Narrative Paragraphs

This section includes narrative paragraphs written by spring 2025 students in response to one of these two prompts:

Topic Option 1: My Arrival Story

Tell the story of your first few weeks in the United States. Explain what that time of life was like for you. (What did you do? Who did you meet? Where did you live? How did you feel? What was easy/difficult? Did you know anybody who lived here already? Why did you make the big transition to living in the US?)

Topic Option 2: My Educational Experience

Tell us about your experiences in school in your home country. What did/didn’t you enjoy about school? What was it like? When did you usually start school? How formal was it (uniforms, teachers’ dress, names, etc.)? How many students were in your class? Did you have the same experiences in elementary, middle, high school and college?  Explain.
