Bakra-Eid

One religious celebration that I always enjoy is Bakra-Eid, it is also knows Eid Al -Adha. This festival does not have a specific date since, it is celebrated according to the Islamic calendar, which is similar to the Lunar calendar. It takes place on the 9th day of the 12th month on the Islamic calendar. The main theme of Eid Al-Adha is to slaughter a goat or sheep and distribute 2/3rds of it among family, friend’s and the Poor who are not able to do the slaughtering. However, everywhere it is celebrated differently according to their culture. First, in the morning everyone usually goes to the mosque to pray and give wishes to all the people. Then last year my family and 15 other family friends went to a slaughterhouse where we picked a goat and slaughtered it our own hands. We then went to a park and the men cooked the goat and served it with some rice for all family’s. In the meantime, we all play games and walk around the park. In conclusion I enjoy this festival with everyone because it is one of my favorite and most memorable festival’s.
