NOROUZ NEW YEAR

Laleh Matboo

Norouz New Year is always a memorable time with my family. The Iranian New year is called Norouz. The New year in my country is different than here. Our year changes on the first day of spring. In fact, when the earth goes around the sun after 365 days, our year changes. The exciting part of that is we don’t have the same date for changing the year, because it follows the sun calendar. Also, most celebrate the holiday for about 14 days. In our tradition, we have to design a table with seven items that have names that start with the letter ‘’s’’. Also, we put some flowers and alive little red fish on the table. Additionally, Most of people before or after new year eat sea food, and special fish with rice and vegetables. In summary, every year I look forward to celebrating Norouz New year.
