Cloud Core Curriculum
Cloud Code Camp features its own core curriculum. This is a basic set of skills trainings to allow you to host web pages and web applications in the cloud. The Cloud Core is not exactly a pathway – it’s more like a trail system. You can cross the Cloud Core in various directions, depending on what you want to do.
If you prefer the slow, steady climb into the cloud, you can follow our “Switchbacks”. A Switchback is selection of related skills that allow you to create a web page, a web site, or a web application. Each Switchback samples an assortment of technologies. If you follow all the Switchbacks, one after the other, you will get a well-rounded introduction to cloud computing.
But what if you want to learn a lot more about one of the technologies right away? No problem, just make a “Direct Vertical Ascent!” A Direct Vertical Ascent is our way of describing want happens in a normal IT class. You go step-by-step through one technology or another. No single technology will show you how to host websites in the cloud, though. You will need to make multiple Direct Vertical Ascents. Then you will need to figure out how it all fits together. For help on that, just return to the Switchbacks wherever you left off. The Switchbacks are optimized to show you how it all fits together.
The Trail Map below shows the Switchbacks currently available. At each stop on each Switchback, there are also directions for how to make a Direct Vertical Ascent in that specific technology.
