This book examines the best practices of academic writing by exploring how the writing process actually works; with particular attention paid to the various elements of the college essay format. Chapters on culturally responsive composition and best practices for incorporating generative A.I. into the writing classroom have also been added. This text is an adapation of Gurevich’s first OER, Critical Thinking, and later adapted to a separate OER entitled The Writing Process. This OER also includes material adapted from The Word on College Reading and Writing by Carol Burnell, Jaime Wood, Monique Babin, Susan Pesznecker, and Nicole Rosevear.
