Developing a Connection

Get to know each other and share your experiences and path to being/becoming an instructor.

You may each use some of these suggested topics as conversation starters:

  1. Your educational and/or professional background
  2. Interests (professional and personal)
  3. Goals/expectations each have for this mentor/mentee experience
  4. Immediate needs of the mentee. What do they need to know today or this week?
  5. Mentor can share advice for upcoming opportunities they’d recommend or can attend together. (workshops, gatherings, activities, etc.)
  6. Mentor may share resources they regularly use or refer students to
  7. Make a plan to facilitate any introductions around the college or system.
