My husband and I take care of kids in shifts if we have personal engagements. However, during one argument, my husband added fuel to the fire when he complained about taking care of the kids while I was at my dance class. He was already playing with fire by bringing up old issues, and soon things started to escalate. That’s why we had no energy and motivation to go on the road trip we had planned for the weekend. All our plans went up in smoke, as we decided to cancel everything and take some time apart to cool down.
