ACRL Framework: Wrap-Up

William Perrenod

The goal of this section was to increase awareness of information literacy concepts in general and the research process specifically. It explored the broad information literacy concepts and how these concepts help lay the foundation for research projects. This guide analyzed the iterative process of inquiry and addressed the value of information. It addressed social constructs and how they influence or perception of reality making universal objectivity difficult to achieve. Lastly, this guide recognized that scholarship is a conversation, but not always an inclusive one. When we think critically about the information we access, and the information we create and share, we’re engaging as citizens in one big global conversation. Making sure all voices are heard, including your own voice, is what moves us all towards a more intelligent and understanding society.
