The Key Literacies

The key literacies are a form of college-wide (or global) outcomes that are intended for all students to meet before they graduate with their degree or certificate. They were created and adopted by Spokane Community College (SCC) in the 2021-2022 academic year, and were published on the college’s website in February 2024.

In this section, you will have the opportunity to read about the key literacies, think intentionally about Information Literacy, and consider this key literacy in the context of assessing your academic program, course, or individual practices. This section will be followed by a section on Assessment, a section on Information Literacy, and a section on reflections and putting all the pieces together.
