Perception and Reality

Justin Chambers

Personal Statement

One photographer suggests that not only are eyewitness memory & testimony invalid, but our eyes themselves are faulty. While I disagree with the claim that photographs do not match reality, I do believe that photographs do not match our reality or how we see the world. In my experience with taking photos, there have been several times where I fully believe I know what I’m taking a photo of when in reality the photograph tells a very different story.
