Chapter Introduction and Pre-chapter Activity


Before beginning this chapter, it is important to recognize which skills and tasks you will be expected to learn to perform. Do you already have some previous skills or knowledge in these areas that you can use to your advantage? Are there any topics that you foresee being difficult? If so, it is a good idea to pursue additional assistance to get ahead of any potential issues. You are the master of your education—you have the power to take ownership of your learning!

After completing this chapter, I will be able to:

  • Recall vocabulary related to –ER verbs
  • Interpret questions using –ER verbs
  • Conjugate –ER verbs to ask questions and express my thoughts and ideas
  • Express my thoughts and ideas using two-verb constructions
  • Discuss things that I have to do
  • Use the verb faire to ask about what others do
  • Implement some special phrases that take faire as the verb
  • Recall question words
  • Create questions both with and without question words
  • Recall vocabulary related to –IR and –RE verbs
  • Interpret questions using regular and irregular –IR and -RE verbs
  • Conjugate regular and irregular –IR and –RE verbs to ask questions and express my thoughts and ideas
  • Enrichen my sentences by using –IR verbs of change to express myself precisely and drawing on previous adjective knowledge
  • Recognize the value in making mistakes
