Extern Rotation Journal Entry
PURPOSE
Part of your educational experience includes providing dental hygiene services to underserved populations, which are potential public health careers for you as an RDH. To build critical thinking skills and valuable tools to take with you into practice, consider what you learned from your extern rotation experiences. You can do this in the form of journal writing.
TASK
1. Create one entry for your extern rotation site visited this quarter to your journal. Example:
· If you attend CHC-Lynnwood 2 times this quarter, create one entry, which includes consideration of each of these 2 visits.
2. Consider the following guiding prompts and discuss at least 3:
· Discuss your biggest take-away.
· Discuss something that surprised you.
· Discuss your feelings about working in community health.
· Discuss something that impacted you during one of your visits.
· Discuss how you will use this experience going forward as an RDH.
