My Neighborhood

Marina Sbitneva and Ibrahim Elsakhawy

I really like my neighborhood. It was love at first sight. Living in the forest was my dream and it came true. I like a lot of things in my neighborhood, but there are a few things I don’t like.

First, I want to tell you about the things that I really love. My house is located in a very beautiful place. A lot of trees around make my garden private. I live in a real forest. There is a stream running along my garden and often different animals come to drink water. Not far from my house, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Sammamish and even swim if you want. I also have friendly neighbors. We often walk together with our children and go to visit each other. Sometimes we go together to the Nature Reserve next to us and climb the mountain. There are a lot of shops not far from our area, which makes life more comfortable.

But there are also disadvantages in my neighborhood. There are only two them. Firstly, sometimes it gets a little boring, and I want to plunge into the hustle and bustle of the city. Usually, I take the car and drive thirty minutes to the Seattle Downtown. Secondly, sometimes bears walk around my neighborhood. They like to get food in garbage cans. Also, you can see a bobcat sitting in front of the house. It’s very interesting to watch, but a little scary.

Maybe someone will say that all my neighborhood is boring and not interesting. There is little entertainment and there is no street noise. I think my neighborhood is the best of all, despite the disadvantages. The area is very beautiful and convenient to live.
