My Neighborhood
Jeema YKT
I don’t really like moving, but we had to move because of the life and political situation in my country. After traveling to many countries, we had to choose the United States. We chose Washington State because it has a similar climate to my homeland, and we picked the town of Lynwood since our friends live here. There are many things I like and dislike about my neighborhood.
There are a lot of things I enjoy about my neighborhood. For me it’s quiet, there are not many cars, not many people. That’s important to me because I don’t like big crowds. There are a lot of trees, parks, and the bay is nearby. My family and I are very fond of nature, trees, bushes, and animals. We love the beautiful views of the bay. That’s why the parks and green parts of our neighborhood are our favorite places. The stores we need are close by. It even has its own Alderwood Mall, for example. In nearby areas in Kirkland, Millcreek, Woodinville, Bothell, there are no shopping centers like Alderwood Mall. Here, It seems relatively peaceful and convenient for me.
There are also some things I don’t like about my neighborhood. For instance, it’s a little boring in here because here are no more entertainment centers and clubs. To have fun or to entertain your kids you have to go to Seattle or other neighborhoods. The schools for the kids are not well rated. Usually, school rankings show that kids do well in those schools. The university where I study is far away, so I have to get up early and drive an hour to get there.
As you can see, living in my neighborhood has its advantages and disadvantages. My neighborhood is remote and rather boring. However, this is nothing compared to its advantages. I am pleased that my neighborhood is quiet and beautiful all around me. I am very happy that my neighborhood has more positive qualities than negative ones. And that’s a very good thing.
