My Neighborhood

JS

I moved to Washington State 7 months ago from California. When I first came here, I didn’t like this place very much. I didn’t like the cold and rainy weather. But as time goes, I am getting to like my neighborhood more and more because it has more advantages than disadvantages.

There are many things to enjoy in my neighborhood. For example, it has beautiful parks that are surrounded by the forest and lakes. I like breathing the fresh air in the forest. And there are many places where I can exercise such as big playgrounds, trails, swimming pools and tennis courts. I can enjoy doing various activities like walking and swimming. And it’s so safe that kids can play around the house.

There are also some things that I don’t like. There aren’t so many streetlights that it’s too dark at night. It could be dangerous when you walk along the streets or drive. And there aren’t many places to hang out at night. Most of shops in my neighborhood are closed early like before 8 pm. Besides, our neighborhood is so expensive that I don’t think I can settle down here. If I were a homeowner, I would be happy about expensive price of the house. But I’m not a homeowner yet, and I don’t think I can afford to buy the house in my neighborhood in a few years. I feel annoyed that I should find another good neighborhood to settle down.

I love my neighborhood. Although it has some drawbacks like being too dark and or not having places to go at night, I think there are much better benefits in my neighborhood. It has many places where I can enjoy a lot of activities and it has beautiful and safe environment. I wish I could live here if I could have enough money for buying a house.
