My Neighborhood

Elena Dogadchenko

A couple of months ago, I moved to the USA, to a city called Kirkland. This is already our 4th country where my family will live. Therefore, we are very prepared to choose a new place of residence. My neighborhood has a lot of things that make me happy every day, but there are drawbacks. And yet for me there are more advantages than disadvantages.

There are a lot of things here that I like. For example, I like the forest near my house where my daughters feed bunnies and squirrels in the mornings. The lake, that’s incredibly beautiful and calm, is also close. There’s good infrastructure of the area with a lot of cafes, shops and hospitals. I’m absolutely happy to live in my neighborhood, there is everything for life here!

There are also things here that I don’t like. For instance, I don’t like the high cost of housing or that there are practically no areas for walking. There are also sometimes problems with the schedule of public transport, and sometimes there are days when you can wait for a bus for an hour and it never comes. I guess that these are the only things I don’t like about my neighborhood.

As you can see, life in my neighborhood is full of nice bonuses, but it also has minor drawbacks. Mine is not intended for hiking and housing is expensive. However, I enjoy every day how close nature is and how beautiful my neighborhood is.
