My Neighborhood

Galina Akhmetchina

I moved to a new place a year and a half ago. In my life in the US, I had to move a few times. All this time, I was thinking about a place where I like everything. Six months ago, my husband and I rented an apartment in Downtown Bellevue where we liked everything. There are many things I like, but some of the things I dislike about my neighborhood. However, for me, my neighborhood is perfect and makes me happy.

There are some things I like in my neighborhood. For example, I like modern technologies. There is an excellent quality elevator and security system when you enter the building. Our apartment building is in the heart of the city called Bellevue. There are many different restaurants, places for shopping, and different parks for kids. It is important for our family because we have a little daughter. Also, we have a rooftop terrace in our apartment, and I really enjoy the view. My commute to college is just 15 minutes.

There is also something I do not like about my neighborhood. For example, it is twenty percent more expensive than my previous apartment. There is always some construction going on nearby, which is why there is dust and noise. Also, if you run in the city, the cars smell bad, and it throws me off. Usually, I must drive to some parks to run.

As you can see, life in my neighborhood has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. My neighborhood is expensive, noisy, and dusty. However, this is nothing compared to its advantages, I am enjoying the view on the roof top and walking with my daughter every day to the park for kids and I am glad that I can find neighborhood that I like.
