The Person I Admire

Liliana Dubovyk

I want to tell you about a person I admire. This is my former CEO at my previous job. He had the biggest influence on me and helped me develop as a professional in HR. He inspired me to move forward and grow and, by his example, taught me to be more responsible to society and the Ukrainian people.

First, my former CEO, my future boss at that time, believed in me already at the first interview. I came to the company with little experience but with a great desire to grow in HR. He gradually trusted me with more and more responsible and important projects. I learned a lot, opened new branches, recruited staff, conducted training, and much more. He helped many of our employees to become professional and always tried to keep up with the times. He was not indifferent to everything and everyone.

Second, my former boss is a man with a big heart. Today, Ukraine is in the midst of a brutal Russian-Ukrainian war and my CEO did not stand aside. Already in the second week of the war, he went to the frontline and is still fighting for Ukraine and its people. At first, he was a military volunteer, since he is not a professional soldier. Even then, his front-line brothers gave him the call sign “Boss”! Then he took the wounded out of the battlefield, and then he went to fight himself. He was in the hottest and most dangerous spots on the front line, received several wounds, and is now in a military hospital after being wounded. For more than 2.5 years, he has been defending my country, Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, Ukrainian children, and Ukrainian elders. And at home, in Kyiv, his family, children, and our team are waiting for him. We are always aware of what is happening to him, we support him and, of course, we brag about our successes. To be fair, it should be said that almost half of the men from our team went to the frontline from our company, and each of them can be admired!

In conclusion, as you can understand, my former boss had a great influence on me. I believe that we will meet again someday and have something to talk about. I would really like to listen to his stories and see what changes have happened to him during the war years.

I am grateful to my former CEO for his help and his vital and humane position. This is worthy of admiration.

GLORY TO UKRAINE! GLORY TO THE HEROES!
