The Person I Admire

There are a lot of successful people in the world. They are smart, hardworking, or highly educated. However, the person I admire is my mom. She is an ordinary woman, but she had the greatest impact on me. She inspired me to have a positive attitude and have the habit of saving.

First, my mom showed me the value of having a positive attitude. My mom worked as a teacher when I was three years old. One day, she was suddenly fired by the principal, even though she did nothing wrong. My father was worried about our living, but my mom said this was a good opportunity to start her own business. It was difficult for a woman to start a small business in the 80s. My mom worked from 5:00 AM until midnight because she didn’t have enough money to hire an assistant to help her. She worked hard for 10 years without any complaints. She made enough money to support our family. I had a comfortable life when I was growing up. I was always amazed by her willpower and wanted to become as positive as she was when I grew up. I wanted to overcome any difficulties with a positive attitude in my life.

Second, my mom inspired me to develop a habit of saving. My mom has never spent money on something that she thought she didn’t need. She told us saving was important because you never know when an accident would happen. She helped my brother with her savings when he was unemployed. She also helped my aunt with her savings when she was seriously ill. I’m glad I developed the habit of saving from my mom, so I was able to immigrate to the US when policies changed a lot in Hong Kong.

In conclusion, my mom had a great impact on my life. As I explained before, she showed me that it is important to be positive to overcome any troubles. She also made me get into savings to build a wonderful life in the future. I’m proud that I have such a great mom.
