Introduction
The Instructional Art Committee invited all Lake Washington Institute of Technology employees to share their creative responses to the COVID-19 pandemic; this book documents the work submitted to that show. Submissions included arts and crafts of all kinds, including digital artwork, paintings, poetry, and textile works from people in several different departments of the college. The show was held primarily in the LWTech library, with several additional pieces on display at the college’s restaurant, the Chef City Grill.
Moving our campus fully online during the Covid-19 pandemic created many challenges on campus, and one major struggle was remaining in community with each other. The exhibit was meant to form a space to share our collective and personal experiences with this as we moved through the pandemic and into a healthy return on campus. Not everyone was creative or wanted to share their creativity through the pandemic, but the Instructional Arts Committee hopes for this exhibit to be the first among many all-employee showcases of creativity as we move forward together as a learning community.
