Overview: American Government Canvas Modules and course organization
Canvas Modules
American Government – COURSE ORGANIZATION
This chapter gives an overview of the course and its basic organization based on Modules in the online learning platform Canvas. Below is a summary of each Module focused primarily on the DSJ aspects that are featured so you can see how and where they are incorporated into the American Government content. Each numbered module corresponds to the weeks of the quarter in sequence, e.g., Module 1 is for week 1, Module 2 is for week 2, etc. Other modules refer to major content that supplements the week-by-week instruction (e.g., Civics Module, Research Project Module).
Like most college courses offered these days, my course is a hybrid, with most content provided in the modules of the course’s Canvas shell. Therefore, students’ initial exposure to the course comes through the Canvas portal, regardless of whether the course is taught on campus or synchronously over Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
