It Almost Worked

“The scar in which that is mine that I have burdened upon you. For it was my doing the pain I caused you so.” This is another piece involving original characters. The one in pink is named Takis, belonging to my partner. And the one in blue is my character, Alistaire. These two have a somewhat similar story as the other characters, lovers in a past life. Though it was a tragedy of how their past love ended. Takis carries guilt with him in remembering so, despite not being the one to implement the scar on Alistaire’s back, he feels at fault regardless. I wanted to speak about his guilt through a piece, how the color of the scar matches with Takis’s palette, the tears that he sheds and mourns for them both. I was also inspired by TV Girl, some lyrics referenced in the piece.
