🪵 Kai’s Adventures
Welcome to the World of Kai the Carver!

Hello! You’re about to read a special story about a wise woodcarver named Kai. It’s a simple tale with a powerful idea at its heart: the best way to overcome a challenge is not with force, but with understanding. It’s a story about finding the path of least resistance and learning to work with life, not against it.
Because children learn and understand things differently as they grow, this story has been created in two distinct versions. Each one tells the same core tale but is tailored to a specific age group to make the message clear, engaging, and meaningful.
An Outline of the Stories
Click on the Table of Contents [or images below] and find TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS depending on how old you are
Here’s a quick guide to the two versions you’ll find below:
-
Kai the Happy Carver 🪵 (Ages 3-6)
This version is designed like a picture book manuscript. It uses simple language, repetition, and fun sounds (Swish! Swoosh!) to tell the story. The focus is on the core emotional lesson: when you “listen with your heart,” even tricky things can feel easy and fun.
-
Kai and the Whispering Wood 🪵 (Ages 7-10)
This version reads like a short story for young readers. The language is richer, and the theme is deeper. It introduces the powerful metaphor of seeing “the spaces in between” to solve a problem. It encourages older children to think critically about how to apply Kai’s wisdom to their own lives, from homework to friendships.
Both versions include questions to spark conversation and critical thinking—before, during, and after reading.
Enjoy the gentle wisdom of Kai!
