Policing – Local Level (counties and cities)
- There are 39 counties in Washington state, each having a police department. If you wish to contact a specific county sheriff’s office, perform an online search by name of the county. You can find pertinent contact information under “contact us” links or similar.
- Similarly, many cities and towns in Washington have police or public safety departments. Search online for a particular city of interest, and links will exist (likely inside the “government” link) and choose “police” or “public safety” links.
Tribal Enforcement
- More than twenty tribal entities having enforcement operations exist in Indian Country in Washington. Conduct an online search for the tribal nation you wish to contact, and follow links which will lead you to the police or public safety information you seek.
