Book Description
Welding is a metal-joining process in which two or more pieces are fused together by heating them to appropriate temperatures, with or without the application of pressure or filler material. The fundamental goal of welding is to achieve coalescence, creating a strong, permanent bond between the metals. This process plays a critical role in industries ranging from construction and manufacturing to automotive and aerospace. The basic principles of welding—including techniques, safety considerations, and equipment—are essential knowledge for any welder. In addition to welding, related joining processes such as brazing and soldering, which use lower temperatures and different bonding methods, are also important for specific applications and are covered within this manual. This book has been created for use in two-year technical college programs.
