5 Video Guide
Location
All videos will be housed in SBCTC’s Youtube Channel, WA Open ProfTech library.
Process
- Produce a video in mp4.
- Title the video in the format below:
cohort_chapter#_description.mp4
welding_ch1_blueprintmaking.mp4
healthcare_ch5_patientcare.mp4
cj_ch6_cybersecurity.mp4
- Store the mp4 files in the project’s Google Drive (!Open ProfTech|Videos).
- Fill out the video inventory spreadsheet.
- Create a place holder in the chapter. SBCTC will move the mp4 files to YouTube channel periodically and add captions.
Tips for production
- Prior to video shooting, take a moment to plan for your video. Consider taking rough notes for the things you would like to cover and use it as a reminder.
- At the beginning of the video, state the purpose of the video. For example, “This video will show you a series of safety procedures for welding.”
- Keep the video within 5 minutes unless you have a compelling reason it should be longer.
- Shoot the video horizontally, not vertically as done on social media outlets like TikTok or Instagram.
- Do not add any custom cover/ending pages to the video. Open ProfTech branded cover/ending pages will be added later to each video.
- Speak loudly and clearly. Do not add any background music.
- If you need recording equipment beyond your cell phone or what you already own, such as lighting or a microphone, contact the project manager for assistance.
