4.4 Workplace Laws

Christine Malone, EdD

Laws that apply to the workplace are regulated by the Department of Labor (DOL), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Department of Health (DOH). Many workplace laws reference fair pay, overtime pay, and safety in the workplace. Other laws reference sexual harassment and non-discrimination. In healthcare organizations, OSHA has regulations in place to keep employees safe from possible exposure to infectious materials.
