PDPs for Supervisors Part 2 Evaluation

PDPs for Supervisors: Evaluation

This is the second of a series of two trainings on completing Professional Development Plans at Pierce College. As we established in Part 1 (PDPs for Supervisors: Expectations), PDPs are an important tool for employee retention, feelings of belonging, and well-being. In Part 2, we will discuss how the institution and employee demonstrate accountability for professional learning and development goals.

After this training, you will be able to:

  • Define how reflection on progress toward PDP Goals is a tool in retention and relationships with employees.
  • Consider how the evaluation process for PDPs can be an evaluation of how a department is meeting goals.
  • Examine the PDP evaluation process as an examination of goals rather than a performance evaluation.
  • Review the steps of submitting the second part of the PDP process: Evaluation.
  • Analyze a sample PDP: Part 2
  • Discuss how Part 2 of the process feeds Part 1 (Expectations) for next year.
