This resource relates to building culture in a math class:

Exploring World Cultures in Math Class (https://www.ascd.org/el/articles/exploring-world-cultures-in-math-class)

The emphasis is on exploring world cultures in a math class. The article provides some excellent ways that math can be connected with different cultural and world perspectives. I never thought about linking ancient number systems, Inca number systems, or other ways math was used in ancient cultures to bring perspective on culture and the learning of mathematics. This would be a great way to talk about culture in a math class.
