My Neighborhood

Since 2008 I have moved 9 times. Wherever from Taiwan to the USA, from South Carolina to Washington State, there was only one reason for all of my moving which was for seeking better place for my family. Two years ago, I finally found a lovely home in Kirkland. There are many things I like and dislike about my neighborhood. However, for me, the advantages of my neighborhood clearly outweigh its disadvantages.
There are a lot of things I enjoy about my neighborhood. For example, it’s very safe, peaceful, and convenient. My house is located on a quiet street with a cul-de-sac and is less than one mile from elementary school, middle school, and high school. Many after school programs are surrounding my area. I can pick up and drop off my kids at school and after school classes efficiently. The best thing is that you just take a couple minutes to drive to shopping malls. Everything is nearby, and I can save more time and enjoy more time with my family instead of staying in traffic. My neighborhood is also Neighborhood Greenways in the City of Kirkland. My family and I go for walking and bicycling when we have no other plans on weekends. It’s also a good chance to say “Hello” to my neighbors while we enjoy our green, emerald neighborhood.
There are also some things I don’t like about my neighborhood. My house in a safe, peaceful, and convenient location is pro, but it also has some cons. For instance, house prices are too high to afford and they keep increasing. The big companies like Google and Microsoft build more sites here. More and more people move in my neighborhood because of jobs. The real estate market is crazy. Many trees were removed to build the new apartments. I am worried that my neighborhood will not be green anymore after a couple of years.
As you can see, life in my neighborhood has its own benefits and drawbacks. There are some constructions and listing houses in my neighborhood. However, this is nothing compared to its advantages especially green, safe, and convenient location. I am glad that I can find such graceful neighborhood here.
