The Person I Admire

Zhiping Li and Eli Phillips

I am lucky to have an understanding and encouraging dad. He gave me a lot of courage to face the problem peacefully and made me have the perseverance to persevere.

Dad worked most of the time when I was young. But when I had a problem, he always helped and analyzed with me. He used to patiently explain to me when I did not understand. When I wanted to give up or when I was upset, my dad said he believed that I could do it.

When I was in middle school, I started to be disturbed by external things like cosmetics, clothes, and other beautiful things. Of course, my study declined. I was worried that dad would be angry. But he just listened to me quietly. His eyes were all understanding. Then he told me that learning and yearning for beautiful things are not in conflict. But good grades can make me more confident, and inner knowledge can make me better meet the ordeal of the future.

As you can see, I am grateful to my dad for understanding and listening to me. He has allowed me to face problems and understand my family and friends. I am forever grateful for such a gentle dad.
